Help with my General Purpose M1A Build

Any suggestions for improvement on this build? Any upgrades seem unnecessary?

Does medium weight barrel make a big difference in accuracy (its an extra 1.5 pounds). Would it considerably reduce recoil?

To me it seems like a well-thougt package.
The extended rail should be among the extra because LRB will not sell a M25 without their standard rail. Beside you don't need the extended rail for that scope. But it could allow you to mount other accessories.
You didn't specify any front sight?

It seems the medium profile makes a noticeable difference in accuracy. But in weigth too. Do you want a carry rifle that shoots good enough or a heavier precision rifle?

Recoil? You already chose a muzzle-brake over a flash-hider. If you can carry it, you can shoot it! It's not a concern unless you want to empty your short mag at a C7 rate?! :p

Where did you get the pic? Ahh, you are in the US. Is that your copy of the scope?

I so want one of these for my M305 shortie to replace my Leupold 2.5x fixed Scout, but I read they are available only through the Leupold Custom Shop, which won't sell to international customers, yet. In fact, I can't get that scope to show up in the Custom Shop online yet at all. Perhaps not yet ready.

Nice rifle!

I'm thinking of putting this into M14 doctors carbon fiber stock or Vltor stock (again lightweight). I like the idea of having a carbon fiber stock but I am concerned about durability of it.

!

i was concerned with the durability of a 100% carbon fiber stock as well ;)
my stocks are a blend of carbon fiber and fiberglass. Light weight, extremely rigid, designed for the chinese action, impervious to the elements and backed by a limited lifetime warranty ...... oh and they are made right here in BC Canada :D

Anyone know a company that imports LRB products?

How is that scope better than NXS 1-4x24?
How heavy is your rifle H20 MAN?
Answer your email please M14 Doctor lol

Is standard weight barrel 18.5" much worse in accuracy than medium weight 18.5" barrel both chrome lined?

How would your stock fit on an LRB receiver?

Questar for 750$ or Prophet river for 250$, you choose.

Scout scopes have extended eye relief to mount on the handguard. It's an option but not sensible on an M25.

I heard recently that anything that says 7.62mm on it is not legal for import into canada. Therefore the LRB might not be legal to import. Anyone have any comments on this?

M14 Doctor please email me back regarding your stocks I would like to purchase one.

7,62x51 is a military caliber. The State department decided that these military rifles should not be exported.
We're lucky, the LRB receiver is marked only 7,62mm and there happens to be plenty of different 7,62 calibers. There's no caliber marking on the Criterion barrel. Prophet river is actually trying the import and we should hear more shortly.

thanks wildphil!.....and I did contact prophet river I intend on using them, please let me know if you hear whether they are successful with the import or not

Last issue I'm thinking of is medium or standard barrel. I think I will prob go with standard barrel for weight reduction. I just hope that accuracy isn't much worse because of this choice. I am putting a 1x4 scope on it so its not like its designed for anything more than 4-500 yards MAX anyway.
