Help with my Win. 69a

I brought a winchester 69a off the EE. I didnt like the stock too much so i tryed to change it out for the stock on my other Winchester 69A. but when i did the Magizene wouldnt fix. i gave it a hard push and it seated but then it wouldn't come out. I ended up getting it out with the help of a screwdriver.

I changed the stock backs over and everything works great again. but i was wondering why would this happen. and how would i fix it?
 
the mag cut / holes are different in the 2 stocks.
Before you screwed up the mag with a screw driver
loosen off the stock screw
 
I would get both stock and lay the action with the mount screw lined
up and compare the mag cut out in eack stock to see what the problem
is . You may have to shave some wood of the cut out on you new (old) stock.
are you sure that the mag button is letting go of the mag as it should
when you push it in?
