I agree with that. I would rather have 2 pistols than one and a half. And conversion kits are usually the same or more money than dedicated .22 guns.

Some will say that you benefit from having the same trigger to 'train'cou: with and that is valid but I shoot for fun and it's more fun to shoot more guns.

Besides everyone knows that proper training for your future navy seal career involves airsoft.......:rolleyes:
 
I am not sure why no one has mentioned a nice 22 revolver, these are excellent for a beginner handgun shooter. If your kids are under 10 they might find them a bit heavy, as typically there are no plastic or potmetal parts in these guns.

I agree 100%. Get a dedicated .22lr first.
Now that I have a MKIII, I'm looking for a G17 conversion kit so I can shoot it more. Besides, it's easier for me to transport 1 centerfire HG with a conversion kit than 2 HG's and all the accessories (when I take my motorcycle to the range)
 
I bought a Ruger 22/45 RP. 1500 rds so far, no issues. Blazer bulk .22. I bought regular thickness 1911 Ed Brown grips+screws from Brownells to replace the thin Ruger grips. Minor sanding mod left grip at the top to clear the slide stop. I love the grip now so does my wife. I also got the Ruger (HiVis) F/O front sight kit from Rugers Quebec repair depot/parts supplier. Came with 3 green/3 red lite pipes in different sizes. They are also getting in the Ruger thick 1911 grips. Great .22 for $380 (upgrades extra). I'll probably get a CZ Kadet at some point or a S&W 617.....or both!

I'm not to fond of the look of the s&w 22a or the Neo Just don't like the look of them sorry.

I was considering a revolver but I'll stick with the automatic for now.
 
Guess i'll be the first to throw the Beretta Neos in the mix. Mine worked perfect, had a built in top rail, lots of customizing from Beretta. Ate everything, just the grips were a little small for my mitts. But i learned how to properly shoot with this for sure. To bad i sold it actually.
 
I just don't like the look of the Berreta Neo can't help it it just looks a little off.


Personally I'm amazed the GSG 1911 is actually really close to the Ruger 22/45 on the chart

Are they actually that good?
