Hey All,

I recently acquired a armco tuned norc 1911 and a STI .22 conversion for it. The .45acp top end works fine. BUT when I put the STI top end on the hammer always falls to half #### when the action is cycled. The action cycles far enough for the slide to lock back on empty, so I know that the slide is moving far enough to #### the hammer. I already tried to tighten the sear spring a bit but that didn't change the behaviour. Any suggestions on what i can tweak to make the hammer stay cocked?

Thanks!

My STI Ranger won't half-####, or fully ####, after dry firing. It's either a factory flaw, or a tuning problem(I bought mine from the same place).

If you manually take it from half #### with your thumb to full ####, does it stay all the way back until the trigger is pulled ??

It sounds like there may be a problem with the sear or the hammer . What it is doing is not normal & may be unsafe.

It's might be the disconnector and/or the disconnector recess.

If it's really ARMCO-tuned, I'd call Gunnar.

My eyesight is fading badly. I thought it read "fails to half-####", not "falls to half-####". That's a different issue entirely.

It sounds like the slide is not going back far enough to me. Are you using high vellocity ammo? Maybe the hammer spring is to stiff for the kit.
You could also try more oil in the slide rails...

I thought this at first too, but the slide always locks back on empty. If I manually move the slide that same distance the hammer is fully cocked.
