Help with old 16 gauge

2.5 inch shell are very hard to come buy I have only been able to find them at Profitriver which I will have to see about shipping. And I have 100s of 2.75 shells that were given to me with gun. My son wants to use it to hunt upland birds here in Quebec

Have you checked with Dante (in Mtl) or Londero (in St-Jean) ?
- I find it hard to believe that they don't have this in stock

To bubba an old-mint-16g SxS to use a few boxes of shells, is, well... It's your gun, you can do as you wish... I know I wouldn't do it.

Spoke to Erwin no go Londero forget about they don't even have 22's at this time. Found at profit river placing order to night. and their stock is not that deep. Thanks for all who have respond I appreciate your input. I have 16 gauge reloading tools from a buddy he seems to think We could dissemble the stock I have cut down the shells and reload them with the components without too much difficulty Reduce recycle reuse. I'm interested has any one had experience with said venture?

Did you try Ellwood Epps?

There is a lot of concern shown here about the cartridge length. Length is important to consider when selecting proper cartridges for your gun. What is more important is the pressure generated by the chosen cartridges. I have and use both Kent Game bore and Rottweil 2.5" cartridges. They are very punchy and generate upwards of 9500 psi. Yes they are the correct length but I wonder if the OP's gun is safe at that pressure level?
