hello

i am just new to reloading because i have a cupple of guns you cant buy ammo for.
i was just wondering what powders to use. my dies dident come with any data.

i am reloading .43 mauser with a 360 grain lead bullet and want smokeless powder from the info online they said to use 25-32 grains powder of imr 4198? can you get that here or is there a similer powder i should look at?

and the other one is a long gone italian bodeo cartrige. the gun is a revolver from WW1/11. it fired a 10.4mm(.41cal) 177 grain fmj bullet. i had a cupple of custom cases made for it out of .44mag cases shortend to just a little over the size of a .45acp case. what powder would u recomend? online i have head of 3.2 grains of unique? but he was loading a .427 bullet at 200 grains not the same as mine.

I've no experience with either of those. Have you tried the castboolits forum for the Mauser? I've found an awful lot of information just in lurking there for the stuff I load cast in.

Try IMR 4895. I've used up to 40grs with 385gr cast bullets for 1370fps in one of my 71 - 84's. This is using Bertram brass and WLR primers.

I do not load 43 Mauser, but IMR 4198 is a very common rifle powder and most stores sell it.

Winchester 231 is a very popular pistol powder too and most stores also carry it. Great in 9mm 45ACP 38spl 357 mag etc

ok thank you. i can get both them powders local so i will go with them. the pistol is probubly between a .38 and .45 colt. so 231 i think will be good.
