Hello all, being new to the "tactical" side of shooting I have found myself at yet another crossroad. Growing up I didn't really have the budget for nice optics, and was quite frankly just happy to have a scope at all ! Since then I have gained some knowledge in regards to magnified optics but unfortunately am back to square one with my AR15.
My question to you, is what would be a well rounded best bang for the buck "budget" Reflex or possibly Red Dot sight you would recommend ? I wish I had the money to afford something like an Eotech or Aimpoint, but I just can't justify the expense for a range toy.

I purchased a Vortex strikefire red/green dot scope and for the most part am pleased with its performance. its holds zero well, and appears to stand up to the minimal abuse I throw at it. I do however, have an issue with its small field of view. I personally prefer the reflex style sights with more of a projected dot/crosshair displayed on a short optic area opposed to the long tubular design of most red dot sights. ( I hope that makes sense )

Does anyone have any experience with such a sight that they would recommend ? Ive researched the below brands and seem to always fall in the range of bushnell, barska and vortex when it comes to pricing. I would like to stay under $200 is possible.

Thanks you kindly in advanced !

-Alex.

Eotech
Aimpoint
barska
vortex
ncstar
bushnell

Check the EE for a Bushnell Holosight. It's basically an Eotech without the shroud or NV settings that has been rebranded as a Bushnell. They are no longer made but used they should go for around $200.

Thanks leg, I sent a few pm's - just waiting on replies from sellers now : )
Although as you suggested, being out of production is making them hard to find !!

Any thoughts on the Sightmark ultra shot ?
