Hey fellas, how are we?
Ive got ahold of 140gr Hornady interlock BTSP, around 150 of them.
As some may be aware I use Australian powder, ADI AR2208 which is a little "too fast" of a burn some may say. (eq imr4064 & Varget)
I use it with 130gr corelokts and fine it great in the lighter recoil department, accurate enough speed but it does lack what the .270 is all about.. that maximum FPS.
The ADI manual has loads for 140gr and AR2208 aswell as a 'Faster' burning 2206h, so im half thinking of sticking with AR2208, but maybe going to the more suited AR2209 (eqv imr4350)
Here is ADIs manual for 140gr
140 GR. SFT SP AR2206H .277" 3.280" 40.0 2627 45300 cup 42.6 2768 50600 cup
140 GR. SFT SP AR2208 .277" 3.280" 41.0 2623 44300 cup 43.7 2772 50500 cup
140 GR. SFT SP AR2209 .277" 3.280" 49.0 2737 44500 cup 52.0 2870 50400 cup
140 GR. SFT SP AR2213SC .277" 3.280" 54.0 2716 43900 cup 58.0 C 2888 50100 cup
If I load up around max an a .? im going to be around 100fps behind the slower powders, the slower powders take up more case space, load density is a bit over half(3/4) case with 2208 45gr 130 loads...
Have a think about it for a moment, and maybe think what you would do with bulk 2208 in the cupboard and a 308 shooting 150gr accubonds with fullish case 54grs of 2208..
I tend to use the 270 for 200-350meter range more than sub 100
Thanks
WL
