Help with Safariland holster for P226

I just received my Safariland holster, model 6378-77-411, for my Sig P226 Scorpion. According to Safarilands own website, this is the holster that fits my gun but I am having a heck of a time getting it to seat properly. I understand there is supposed to be a break-in period but it is so tight, I can't even get my gun to seat all the way in so that the retention system locks. The instruction says there is a screw to adjust retention by the muzzle end of the holster but I don't see anything inside there that looks adjustable. The only screw that fits the supplied allen key is on the side of the holster but when I turn it out, it doesn't seem to loosen anything.

I remember trying a similar holster with a blue gun before and was sold on how smoothly it slid in, clicked and released. The one I got is anything but....if anyone is using a similar setup, I would appreciate any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Ok, so after being a bit more "persuasive ", I was able to get it in to the point where I feel it latch but now it seems the gun comes out without using the thumb button.

Heat gun perhaps?

I love my 6378 holsters and currently 7378 for my Glock 17 and Sig P226. I still rock a 6378 for my 1911 since Safariland don't make a 7378 (7TS technology) for the 1911 family.

Hope the heat gun could help create a little more "wiggle room" in that 6378....

I suppose that is an option...though I wonder if that would do anything about how the gun stays locked in. When you holster your guns, they more or less slide right in and click without having to shove them in? Thanks for your input

Should...but...with the rail it may be tight. There's a screw ahead of where the trigger guard would sit, remove that and the drum and insert the pistol. Figure out where its tight after that and you can get a piece of wood a little larger to squeeze in their and loosen it up. Heat gun would definitely help too.

Normally, that screw is used to tighten the holster because it'd be too loose, not the opposite...
