Help with SR-22 barrel nut removal

I'm trying to install a Dlask short handguard rail but I need to re-use the forearm adapter piece . I got the peice seperated from the stock handguard but now I'm having trouble removing the forearm peice from the barrel nut. See attached pic. I just need to seperate these two pieces. Looks like some threadlocker has been used. I tried heating the assembly with a torch and turning but no go. I can't really get a good grip on it when turning. Plz help!

Hey dude, I know your pain.

Do you plan on using the original nut and forearm? If no, clamp the front chassis piece into a vice, wrap in masking tape or cardboard to protect the finish. Grab a pair of channel lock pliers and twist that nut off.

If you want to reuse it, heat it with a torch and use a barrel nut wrench or a strap wrench to twist it off. Take caution to protect the threads and yourself from burns.

The fools at Ruger have the loctite mixed up and are always using the red tube instead of blue

Use a 5/8 machine bolt with a square (15/16") head and slightly round the corners until it fits inside the the nut. Put some nuts back to back on the bolt so you can turn the bolt counter clockwise with a wrench. With the piece in a vise and a significant amount of heat to melt the red loctite it should come off somewhat easily.
