Help with SVT40 markings

She shoots amazingly. Only issue I've had is a few stuck cases. But I think that's more a problem with the cheap ammo. And whoever pinned my mag pinned it to 4 rounds not 5. I've had a heck of a time finding info on my rifles markings.

Let me guess, your mag is SVT-38 mag. They are little bit smaller then SVT-40 mags and when installing rivet at the same distance from the bottom you ends up with 4 rounds. I noticed that in some (not all) SVT-38 mags. But you know, you can tell all your anti friends that you met and exceeded laws requirements limiting you in deadly paper-punch firepower.
I like the rough finish of 1942 rifles.

The quick visual ID for an SVT-38 mag is a cup style floorplate. IIRC, there is also a takedown pin on the side not the bottom.

The other markings are still being decoded by collectors and linguists much smarter than normal shooters. The two things that matter are the year code, and the five-point star for the Tula arsenal. Since the end of the LGR, the serial number on the left side of the reciever ring is less important for the average guy. It does however have meaning to the collectors, who are figuring out production batches and numbering ranges.
