Help with the value of a Garand.

Need all the details!!! Manufacurer, SR# for production date, drawing #'s off parts, condition of barrel and pictures just to start. You can always try Scott Duff's web sight and check for simular rifles. A typical service grade mixmaster M1 thru the CMP here in the states is about $500 US.

value of a Garand

I think that if you want to evaluate your M1 Garand, you will have to be a little more specific as to what kind of Garand you have.
Now,on the receiver you,ll have the name of the arsenal it came from,it can either be a Springfield Armory,a Winchester,or a Harington & Richardson,or an International Harvester and so on and the receiver will be stamped with the Ser#,Now on the barrel you will have the Arsenal initials of who made it and the month and year it was made, and the stock,Is it original, does it have Stamps on it and ordonance wheels,p proof marks and were are all the peaces made by the original Factory,as you can see there are many factors that you have to consider that go in the evaluation of a M1 Garand. And you most also keep in mind that there are some fakes out there.
Hope this helps,CCIC:D

Garand pricing

Alan Lever imported them by the container load and retailed for $150 in 1998-99. The last retail price I saw was in the range of $600 to $800. Guys want good clean ones with a minimum of mixed USGI and Italian-made parts.

Winchesters have an edge over Springfield, but International Harvester trumps both. The Breda and Beretta ones are the underachievers and underappreciated models, but mostly due to US buyer prejudice.
