Not many details, supposed good shooter, pretty good condition. Has sporter barrel and floor plate potential trade bait, but I’m not versed in Sako.

Not an A7. Worth about a grand.

Right. It's an A1 action. Bare rifle perhaps $1200; with scope and mounts, $1450. The mounts are just OK, not the best. They look like Leupold mounts the bases of which have been hammered or bolted onto the tapered dovetail of the Sako receiver. A better setup is with ring mounts (Sako or Leupold) that fit directly onto the tapered dovetail. Not a big deal, perhaps, but might be a factor with a Sako enthusiast.

That scope is a VX III, worth 5-600 IMO.
The gun is 1200 in very good condition. The action is very desirable as a rebarrel too.

Hard to tell what version that Leupold scope is. Could be a VX2, VX-III, Vari-X III, etc., couldn't it? I've seen these go for $300-$400, but when sold separately. When sold along with a rifle, they add less than that to the total price. I seem to recall that the old rule of thumb was to add $100-$150 to the price of the rifle with a lower-grade scope mounted, and perhaps $200-$250 to the price for a better scope (but not one of the really-top brands like a S&B or Swaro) in near new condition. If DMS1 wants to sell the rig, he might be best off to sell the scope separately. Just my opinion....

From what I see it’s a three series Leupold. I’d bet it’s a 4.5-14. And it could be Varmint hunter reticle or not. These older leupolds have become more scarce lately. And prices have moved up.

Mounts appear to be the older Redfield's that fit the Sako Dovetails. Had a set just like 'em on my H&R 317 Ultra Wildcat years ago.

The "A1's" are nice rifles, and in .17 Rem, one of the flattest shooting varmint rounds to 300m. Matched with a Leupold 12x it makes a awesome walking varmint combo. I paid $1400 with scope.

If you want to keep jacket fouling to a minimum with the .17 Rem, then reload with Hornady or Berger Bullets. The factory Rem bullets foul badly!
