Help with Varmint Scope Selection

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a CZ 527 Varmint in .204 Ruger. I've finally raised some funds so I can now go out and buy the scope. I've decided on a Leupold VX-3 Long Range but can't decide on which model. I've narrowed it down to the following but need some help deciding. Thanks for helping:
1. 4.5-14 x 50 Duplex reticle
2. 6.5-20 x 50 Target Dot reticle

I have a VXIII 4.5-14x40B&C on my 204 and a 6.5-20x56 varmint reticle on my 223. Both great scopes, tough decision. The 4.5 is better for closer ranges, 6.5 is great for the longer shots and the side focus is a great feature. My next varmint scope will be a 4.5-14x40 LR with the varmint reticle for a 20VT. Hope this helps

I have a 4.5-14X40 Mark 4 with the Duplex on my .204 and a 6.5-20X50 Mark 4 on my 22-243 Middlestead and love them both. I do not regret going with the 4.5-14 on my .204 because I find myself shooting more Gophers with it and the 4.5 is good for close range.
