Purchased one of these scopes to mount on my Interarms Mark X in 7mm mag instead of a traditional 3-9x40 as it seemed to have all of what I wanted in a scope such as target turrets, bdc recticle and I wanted the high magnification so I wouldnt need a spotting scope or to walk to my target to see where I hit at longer range. Needless to say i really was impressed by the look, quality, optics, features, etc of this unit, even like it better than a Bushnell Elite 4200 i had on a 300 win mag I regret having parted with but what gets me is that even with the elevation topped out, it shoots 24 inches low at 50 meters. At first I figured it could be my mounts or maybe the gun as it looks like its been worked on and the barrel is maked McCowan barrel or Mcgowan barrel so i'm guessing its an aftermarket barrel but may be wrong. I will point out that I just purchased the gun without a scope and then bought this scope and went to the range. Once i discovered this problem i went to a friend who has a boresighter and sure enough my crosshairs were below te grid of the boresighter, the elevation did move the crosshairs but beeing topped out could only make it worse turning it down. I have not tried the scope on any other of my rifles but I tried another scope on the rifle using same mounts and rings (an old weaver tv view 4x) with the boresighter and everything seemed ok with this scope but I didnt shoot it, went to my sporting good shop and told him this story. We both assumed I got unlucky and got a defective scope so he ordered a new one which I got earlier this week, went to the range today and to my horror it shoots just as low. I'm not totally new with guns but not an expert either and before I try returning this one too, i figured i'd check with you guys. Should I buy adjustable mounts ? Any suggestions? Will try the scope on a different gun this weekend if i get the chance.
