If you like the 870, go with it. I have the same issue as you do and own both. Shooting either left handed is no problem.
The BPS is certainly more ambidexterous with the tang safety, but on the trap field you never use the safety anyway.
You really cant go wrong either way.

try an eye patch
I too have an eye dominance issue. I closed my left eye for the longest time until I started shooting with an eye patch. Most guys use scotch tape. It took a while but now I see the birds better than ever.

If you can change to be left handed than that is good.
But if you find shooting left handed is too uncomfortable and that you'll never be able to, just put a SMALL piece of scotch tape on your left lens, it works quite well, though I am a skeet shooter and not trap, so depth perception isn't as much an issue for me as it may be for you shooting trap.

How old are you ? How long have you been shooting ? How comfortable is putting the gun to the left sholder ? Depth perception Is NOT a big issue shooting skeet or trap . Sporting or hunting is a different thing.
i too am close to your situation, im left handed right eye dom. you have to shoot with the dominant eye ie right right handed etc. you have a bigger problem in that you will need a left handed stock as it will be cast for a rght shooter. Gun fit is the most important part of all competition games. nothing else!!!!!
