So I'm trying to help out a co-worker here with picking up his first 22lr. What I've found out though is that he needs a shorter rifle. Things like youth model center fires fit him alright and things like a Winchester M70 Featherweight or Remington model Seven fit him better, regular length stocks are a complete no go. So I was just wondering opinions on rimfires that have slightly smaller stocks as the selection in town right now is crap meaning I'll probably have to find one online for him. LOP he needs seems to be in the 12"-ish range based on preliminary measurments.

If he wants the cool factor too you could always look at a mark II fvsr, their length of pull is on the shorter side and the 16" barrel is super accurate.

Another would be a glenfield/marlin model 70, or 795. Their a nice small semi auto.

For semi auto, the SU-22 has a pistol gip stock. It's expensive but light weight small and folds in half for transport. Fits in a backpack! 5lbs of fun!!! 26 rounds.
There is a conversion for the AM-180 drum mag which holds 275 rounds, FYI
