Henry 17HMR firing pin needing adjustment?

I am experiencing a substantial percentage of non-firing shells with my Henry 17 HMR. I am using fresh ammo and it seems to do it with every brand I try. A friend suggested that the firing pin needs to be adjusted to strike harder. This appears to make sense to me. Has anyone else had this problem? Is my friends theory correct? Does anyone have any idea how difficult this adjustment would be and how long it would take a gunsmith to correct?

Hi. Firing pins don't get adjusted. New firearms come with a rust inhibiting preservative, in 'em and on 'em. Clean the inside of the bolt first. Then look at the hammer spring. The former is far more likely than a weak hammer spring.
