That the quality isn't there and they are known bummers. Strange with so may happy owners out there .....
I'm interested that so many men find the Youth model not too short. That means my petite daughter ought to do fine with one. I do find the plastic barrel band off-putting on the early models mentioned. But then, I ,live with the alloy barrel bands on my B-92s.

Everyone that has shot my youth model (10-67 year olds) has had nothing but positive things to say and a smile on their face.
Nobody seems to mind that it's the compact model.
