Henry 3030 which grain?

Hi.

Ive acquired a Henry 3030 side gate lever action. Website says it has a 1:12 twist rate. Ive been buying federal power shok 170 grain. Wondering if the 150 grain would be better. I like the federal power shok cause its decently priced. I did try a box of 150 but didnt really notice a difference in performance, im sighted in for 50 meters

Whats better for deer? 150 or 170 between 50 and 100 meters. Thats about as far as im gonna shoot

They will both kill deer well, pick the one with the best availability and price. Good luck hunting with it!

The performance of the 150 vs 170 grain bullets on deer would be virtually imperceptible, IMHO.
I have shot deer with both weights out to 200 meters. Never could see any real difference in
the way they killed deer. The 1:12 twist is plenty for the 170 bullet in the 30-30. Dave.
