OP, I don't know your background, so apologies if this is old news: Assuming you have correct shot placement, your bullet needs to be correctly built for the game you're after and going at the right speed (not too fast, and not too slow). For factory ammunition, I guess you could legally use any JSP or HP off the shelf, but I don't have much love for any economy grade hunting ammunition. Without testing for expansion with individual types, I'd be fairly confident with any XTP round. It's a tough bullet that has a reputation for generally holding up really well to the higher velocities that you'll usually get using handgun ammunition in your rifle.
Honestly, a lack of factory ammunition options in the chamberings I use is one of the biggest reasons that I got in to reloading.
