Henry 45-70 Mag Tube Upgrade?

Hi all; just carrying this forward from another thread. It appears, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Henry has reinforced a known weakpoint on their mag tube lock-up design ...

The known fact that the tube magazine splits on the Big Boy rifles. Mine split after only 83 rounds on my BBS in .44mag. There is a reason that the Canadian warranty depot carries lots of them in stock.

On my 2020-made 45-70, it appears that area is reinforced.

That's a smart upgrade. Nice to see them addressing issues in a way that looks good too.

I've got an old Nobel 22lr that's starting to fail like that and I'm sure not going to get any new parts under warranty! Might have to see if I can replicate the improvement in your pictures. Thanks.

Let me know if you need better photos. I just wanted to clarify that Henry has indeed listened and fixed the problem area (at least on the 45-70 models). It must be a recent upgrade as I've not found any reference to it elsewhere on the internet.
