Ended up with a Henry 45/70 that I took on a trade, my last experience with a tube fed magazine was a Ithaca 22 lever action and I found it was a pain. I have owned a Marlin and a Rossi in 45/70 and was never comfortable with the loading gates, I have to say I think I prefer the Henry tube loader, the larger 45/70 are a lot easier for my fingers than the small .22s were. Not looking for an argument here just an observation that others might have my recollection of loading the smaller .22s and have decided against a Henry, plus it was complete with a ghost ring setup.

I always liked .22 tube feeders.
I found that all of the ones that I owned all seemed to work well, and you could place a lot of rounds in the tube, and you didn't need to buy spare mags.
I owned a Marlin Model 60 semi-auto, a Remington Nylon, 94-.22, and a Rossi pump.
They also appealed to me because the tube-feeding was more traditional for a repeater.
I'm looking to get a Henry Big Boy when my finances improve.
The magazine tube end loading, which at first seemed odd on a center-fire rifle, matters not in the least to me now.
