Henry AR7 survival rifle

I have several of them... For reasons unknown I am fond of these guns. Probably from all the ads in gun rags I read as a kid. The gun on its own is surprisingly accurate, but the sights do suck. You can easily install a cheap dot sight and it would be plenty accurate for raccoons. On another plus side I'd is very light -especially the newer models with the polymer outer barrel.

A cheap red-dot sight contained in "easy-off" (quick-detach) 1-inch rings is indeed an invaluable addition to the AR-7....:)

I purchased one a few months ago- mainly because of the pictures I saw as a kid and the James Bond Factor. I haven't yet made up my mind about it- it is very compact and I like to keep it in my range bag in case I want to switch from my 308, and the takedown factor is really cool. But on the other hand the peep sight is very poor, and it just doesn't seem right to carry along a extra scope to put on it. Also, although this is a minor point, I don't like the fact that you can't lock the bolt open.

It is nowhere near as accurate as my 10/22 and I'm thinking of getting rid of it to purchase a takedown 10/22 in the fall.

Anyways, my 2 cents.
