New Henry Big Boy Steel 44 Mag with 16.5 in barrel consistently shoots 6-8 inches to the right. The front sight is centred and to get it to shoot straight the rear sight has to be adjusted so it hangs off the side of the barrel. Has anyone else had this issue? I swapped out the rear site and peened the opposite corners of the machined dovetail which made it a bit better but sight still off to one side. I rectified the problem by filing the sight notch off center so it is good now.

My all weather 44 mag shoots right on. On the other hand a all weather 45-70 I had shot off to the side as well. Contact customer service or play with the buckhorn sight.

I had 2 Henry Big Boys. #1 was a brass 44 mag lever. It was one of the first 1000 made. Bought it at Bass Pro in Vaughn. The rifle was nothing but trouble. Bass Pro would not take back and Henry said send it back through an importer. Cost me big time in cash and time. Never did get to the US for repairs after sitting at the importer for 4 months. Henry would not pay for repairs here. The second was a 357 lever. Same sh!!!!t. never buy one again. Poor Poor service Sold both for a fraction of what I paid. Their service on the phone and e-mails are great but the solutions for repair here stinks

Just tap the front sight the opposite way to the way you want it to go, very little movement of front sight will make up your inches !
