Henry frontier octagon barrel .22

How much did they want for the silverboy?
I fondled one at LeBaron (Markham) today. Very nice! Quality materials and fit and finish was VG. Action wasn't as smooth as a Henry but still nice. Didn't try the trigger 'cause that's a no no.
Last one (display model) and on Special for $529....

I love my henry frontier, it's a shooter as well....this is some experimenting with different ammo.
It really likes CCI mini mags 36gr hallow point. this is not from a bench, just resting my arm over the car hood @ 50 yards
I'm curious what it can do off a bench at the range.

My Henry 22 mag octogonal is quite a shooter, Henry are at the top of the game... In my book that is... JP.

I picked mine up today from the Italian. Been wanting a Henry lever with octagon barrel for a while and I was gonna order one from the big box store in Calgary but I've read that the stock angle on the frontier is smaller then on the GB. I wanted to handle them both and see for myself how they felt.. Thankfully I found it locally and sure enough cgnr's were right, so thanks for the heads up.

Yeah the drop in the comb on the golden bot is ridiculous. I shot one today at the range and getting a consistent sight picture was a real challenge. Overall accuracy was just not that great either, but I blame a good part of that on the lack I repeatable cheek weld, or... chin weld as it were.

Despite the lower comb (due to a traditional stock angle), I have no problem anchoring my two GB's for good accuracy... I am shooting them both with Skinner peeps and Lyman AUG17 Globes with Lee Shaver inserts... And this is with a sight plane that is slightly higher than the OEM irons...
