Henry Lever action rimfire .22

I own that same rifle your looking at and really enjoy shooting it.
Henrys have REALLY smooth action and are well made.
You'll like it!
Just make sure Frontier Firearms takes care of ALL warranty work if any is ever needed, as Henry doesn't like dealing with anyone outside the USA boarders.

Is this a decent way to go? I heard their customer service is extraordinary.

My brother-in-law has the Henry 22LR Goldenboy which is essentially the same rifle. My experience is that it is very well made and reliable. The fit & finish is top quality. Mechanically, it is very smooth & built extremely well. I love to shoot it. Accuracy is top notch. What else is there to say?

:p

I'm convinced.. As soon as I sell this car.. It's mine!

Lever action rifles are ###y... :)

I like the "Frontier" model, with metal sights, octagonal barrel that's a few inches longer, very slightly more magazine capacity, and overall better looks (in my opinion). You can get it from Cabela's for $369.

The frontier is the nicest one for sure.

Good choice of rifle. I bought a Golden Boy a couple years ago, and it's a good shooting unit. Very non-fussy about ammo. Just throw a few handfuls of ammo down the tube and get shooting!

This one?

Yup, good price too but you should de commission that hot link because Cabela's is not a supporter here.

They have too many zinc and plastic parts for my liking. I would rather spend a little extra on a Marlin, Winchester, or Browning or just get a bolt action or semiauto if I was looking for something less expensive than the above options.

I'm wondering, does it have plastic sights?
And would it be worth getting the .22 WMR? Does it still hold the .22 shorts?

I would at that point consider a higher end model Henry.

i have the exact gun it was and still is my only 22 there a nice little gun with iron rear and plastic front sights, which are not set from the factory mine was a foot off at 20yrds. if your set on a lever you might want to spend a bit more on a better model or a different make.

The base versions do have plastic sights and barrel band. In addition, the receiver is zinc alloy with what I believe is an aluminum cosmetic cover. All in all, they seem kind of chintzy to me.

.22 WMR firearms cannot be used with any other rimfire cartridge besides .22 WRF.

I bought 2 Henry .22LR. One for me and one for my father. They are currently both returned to the dealer because both of the guns had defective sights and even a gunsmith couldn't adjust them. Also both they both had finish problems near the hammer.

I waiting the final ruling, but I will probably go for a different brand for a lever action rimfire once they dealer decides what to do with it.

I guess if you go Henry, got for the higher end of their rifle and not the entry level models.

I hope it helps!
