Had my Henry H010 in 45-70 at the range on Sunday.
Had a box of Honady 325 gr FTX to blow through. At 25 metres with the rear sight set at two notches up from bottom, I was hitting inside 1.5 inches around the bullseye. Not bad! It's also super easy to single load for, directly into the ejection port. It's nice owning an unaltered factory rifle that shoots so well. The other thing I noticed was how clean burning the Hornady is. Barely any carbon deposits near the bolt face and the barrel was almost clean! There's nothing to fault on this rifle.

Nothing like blasting targets with a big ol' 45-70.

I've been watching the Prophet River threads like a hawk regarding new Henry product coming in stock. I'm desperately waiting for a new Henry Big Boy side gate .357 with the short barrel. From all accounts that I've read it's one sweet little rifle.

I’ve got the non side gate 357 carbine. Love it. Light, quick to point. Well balanced loaded. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I bought a henry .44mag steel carbine on sale at cabèlas years back for $749 and its a nice handy little rifle, accurate as can be with the buckhorn open sights.oddly ,Ive never taken this rifle hunting,it has killed a few beef cattle instantly tho.

Hahaha. Current count.....22WMMR, .22 golden boy brass round bbl, 30-30 brass hex 20", .44mag brass hex 16", and the safe queen -first edition 1860 engraved brass in 44-40. I'd say Henrys are " a little bit of alright!"
