Henry Lone Rangers ? anyone touched n shot

Do like the looks of the Long Ranger, have not handled one yet. Few Gun Dealers have them in stock, none around here, hopefully soon.

errr... I think you mean their "Long Ranger" ?? And no, I haven't, but it looks like a knock-off of my BLR... :)

Cabela’s has them in town here. Had a chance to handle and look over the Long Ranger. I was impressed with the fit and feel; balance was nice as well. It’s a slim firearm that would slide easily out of a scabbard (if, somehow, you happen to be an old western sheriff looking for the pesky ol’ Cassidy brothers) or an ATV rhino case (a little more common scenario). It’s definitely on my list if they come out with a 22” model in .358 or .338 Fed. Personally, I liked it over the BLR for fit, but that’s a personal thing. Also, in reading, I like the design of the action and trigger group; I can’t remember why right now as it’s 7am and I haven’t had my Mini Wheats yet, but I remember reading how it was a simpler design than the BLR.

errr... I think you mean their "Long Ranger" ?? And no, I haven't, but it looks like a IMPROVEMENT of my BLR... :)

Fixed it for you! Based on the couple I've handled - better trigger, slimmer receiver, similar price point - there really is no comparison to be had. The improvements to the trigger alone make it better (at least to me). Just wish it came in some less vanilla chamberings (7mm-08, 260rem, or 338 fed would be a good start).

Handled one at Cabela's. Nice enough gun. I don't think it felt the equal of a BLR quality wise, and the lack of open sights would be a deal breaker for me.

Here is mine.......243 with iron sights , amazing quality, nicer than any of my BLR's

Very Nice Rig.. Did you get the extra mags when purchased or order them from Henry separate, cheers

I wanted them when I bought it but no dealers had them so I ordered direct from henrys parts site, super fast service, and pretty inexpensive

I was holding out for a version with rifle sights but NorthPro Sports (site sponsor) had them on sale. Trigger averaged 3lbs, 9 oz over ten pulls on a digital scale, the wood is the nicest of any I have seen on a factory rifle and the fit is superb! I will have to get a rifle sighted version as soon as they start chambering in other calibers (338 federal or 358 Winchester would be awesome). Very glad I got this one! Just need to run a couple boxes of factory through it and start load development. Fired brass from a model 70 I used to have wouldn't chamber, but new Nosler brass would - leads me to believe this thing has a fairly tight chamber.
