Henry Mares Leg .22 and .45lc

We are getting a few at a time...will be a week or two once i fill the pre-orders and then I can have a few for the shop. Pop by and say Hi anyways...

Gary

10-4 looks like it will be tuesday some time, hopefully you will have some Ranchhands by then!

They have the plastic barrel band near the front sight. that was my only deception on this gun, but I was expecting it because I own other Henry firearms and they uses a lot of plastic parts for the furnitures on their gun.

Other than that a real fun gun. My wife love it, my son shoot it well enough for the first time this past week-end.

Mine function perfectly, no failure to feed or to extract, the front sight could be thinner ( it's a thick front post with white outline). Trigger is a little stiff and has no slack. Feel a little gritty when pull, seem to ligthen with use.

The rear elevator doesn't seem to do to much and wiggle a little from side to side.

Wood fit and finish is nice.

Akward to shoot at first you have to find your sweet spot.

I love mine and I have a lot of idea for making a detachable stock (aluminium or carbon arrow shaft, brass rod- cleaning rod that insert in the sheath etc..)

I think it's a good fun gun:cheers:

.22 Mares Leg

Just got pm'ed.:) Ordered.:D Now the wait is on as I may be out of town when it arrives. This could be worse than being a kid waiting for Christmas.;) Thanks Gary

Picked up one of the 22's today - thanks Gary! :)

This little guy looks like a hell of a lot of fun. I won't get a chance till next weekend to go put some rounds downrange, but just holding it and playing around it seems like it's going to be pretty easy to shoot and a lot of fun. It'll chamber 22 shorts so a perfect little quiet grouse-getter while looking for bigger game.

I don't really like the look and feel quite as much as i like my rossi - the lever stands away from the grip a fair bit and it's an inch longer than the rossi ranch hands will be. But it's also about half the price :) And i'm expecting that it'll shoot pretty good. Very compact and portable - i might do something with the sights (they're not exactly the best sights ever made,) but we'll see how they do first.

All in all - i'm quite happy with the purchase. Definitely worth snatching one up while they're around.

And of course - what can you say about wanstalls service? You walk in, it's a bunch of happy people selling guns to a bunch of equally happy people and everyone scrambles to help and you never feel rushed or like you're getting hustled out of the way. Just one of those places where buying the gun's almost as nice as shooting it. :) Thanks guys.

Foxer Ive been trying to look into adjusting the sights on the .22 .....

are they dovetailed in? I was hoping there would be holes on the reciever to mount a peep....
