I'm interested in a Henry Mares' Leg for a christmas present for myself, or a registry sendoff celebritory gun, whenever I get around to it.

What have your experiences been? I'm pretty sure they're worth it, but I haven't heard much about them since they've been out.

Ive had alot of fun with mine. Made up a holster for it. great squirrel gun. well made. good quality. and its hard to find a company with better customer service then Henry.

Hey prevost12
Glad to hear your enjoying yours.
Like to think I might have led you down that trail.
I like mine a lot, it's pretty wierd to shoot, but a lot easier to hit with then a handgun, just pin it against your cheek and away you go.
Good shooting practice. Tough gun to hit anything farther than 25yds with.
Fits in my drybag, it now goes with me just about everywhere.

Have a lot of fun with mine. So much in fact that I bought a second one. Quite a good truck or quad gun for closer range. Scoped one to see what would happen and from a rest it was about an inch or so at 50 yards. My GF bought the 45 one too. Smooth and well made. Worth the money for me.

prevost12... any chance you could post a picture of the holster you made for your Mare's Leg and any information about it... thanks

If I can save up some money I want to get one and then find a nice peice of AAA walnut to make a regular butt stock for it.

I would expect the short sight raduis to be the limit on accuracy rather than the gun its self.

I wonder if a Williams type tang mounted peep sight could be fitted??? Not so useful in its regular configuration but with a regular butt stock it would be a nice carbine.

I ordered a full length Big Boy stock from Henry. And cut 3" off it. Put a Skinner site on it and its the Best open site 45 cal around! Love it!

Got one this summer in 22 and wanted to get my daughter shooting it (she is 7) but it did not work well with her so I ordered a youth stock for the H001 and it fit like a glove -
if you think the ML is cool the ML fitted with a youth stock is a better rig IMO - and you still have the ML stock to play zombie killer with. fits my daugther great - crazy thing is Henry ended up shipping me 2 youth stocks for the H001 for the cost of one - when I contacted them about it they told me to just keep the extra one - gotta love Henry - any body interested in a youth stock (I think it makes the gun a 12' lop) for their 22 ML PM and maybe we can work something out...
