I am looking around for a youth rifle for my kids to start getting the feeling of shooting a firearm. I have been training them on a bb gun and would like them to be able to pull the trigger and get the hang of handling a firearm.

I am looking at the Henry mini bolt. Any comments/suggestion?

Or maybe on another rifle?

Thanks!!

I have heard good things of it, and it has a really nice short LOP. I am thinking of getting one for a grouse gun for the backpack.

The Savage Cub is another good choice.
My wife is quite petite so I got her a Cub to start her on the road to hunting and it fits her well. It's quite an accurate little bugger too.

Henry Mini Bolt would be a nice choice ! They are make of Stainless Steel with black synthetic stock making it more weather resistant. It is a very lite and compact little rifle. I bought a brand new one back in December, and did the bad move of selling it :bangHead: . but will certainly get another one in the near futur. it make a nice reliable lite truck or back pack rifle, and does not fear dampness. Excellent choice as a starter gun for kids too !!

Yeah I have a girl who would just love that orange stock! They really look cool.. Seem safe too, one round, light, etc..

has anyone come accross the orange one in a store or online lately?

I was going for that to ,

but saw the remington model five youth,
so i went the remington youth because it's a five shot detacheble magazine and it come with a single shot adaptor. perfect for my little girl....and when she's not with me it make a great back pack rifle.

ho ! and it's 168$ at sail,le baron !!!! good price and additionel magazine are 11$

enjoy shooting with your kids !!!!!

I bought my younger son one, and while it's cheap and does everything it's supposed to, something about it just doesn't work for me. It seems too cheap.

My older kid has a savage 30G, which is a remake of the stevens favorite, and it is a really cool kids rifle. That's the way I'd go on a new one.

I just boughta Mini Bolt for my daughter from Frontier, I found he had the best price after shipping and tax was figured in. He only had a few in stock, and none were orange.

I cannot tell you how they shoot since I have not fired it yet. Its supposed to be a B-Day gift in June, but I don't not think I can wait that long to go take her shooting with her first rifle. A nice touch that this rifle has is that under the pistol grip there is a small looney sized plate that you can get engraved to make it more personal. I am getting it engraved to say "Happy 10th Birthday, Love Dad"

Its incredible how small it is, which will be perfect since my daughter is just a petite thing.

I have had a Henry Mini Bold for by7 year old son for abort a year. Really likes it, simple to use, shoot and reload. The single shot is a added safely feature in my option.

My only criticism is that it takes a bit of force to pull back the plunger, was a bit frustrating when my son was a bit younger. I was thinking about getting a different pull machined (something in a T shape I think would be better)

First time I pulled it I thought the same thing. Why would they have it so its hard to pull when little fingers are going to being using it. My daughter will be 10 soon, but she is the size of most 8yr olds lol just a tiny thing, so I hope she has strong fingers.

Wow, I like the look and size of that. My son and daughter use a Backpacker air rifle right now.
But, I'd really like to pick up one of these.
Anybody have one, that their kids have grown out of ?
And that you're willing to part with.
Please PM me
