Henry new single shots look interesting

I just picked up one of these in 444 Marlin....originally a 44 Mag reamed out by Epps. I will report back on how it shoots with various jacketed and cast bullets. I plan on thumping a deer with it this fall.

With a scope that high, I wouldn't use a straight-tube scope. They look a bit silly sitting way up there; their biggest advantage is how low they can be mounted and since that is out the window you might as well use a larger objective lens, which will look better and also provide the same huge exit pupil at slightly higher magnification, much more useable in low light.

Cannot wait until it shows up :D I am thinking a Leupold 1.5-5x or 2-7x may match well. Thoughts?

I have the Leupold 1.5-5 on mine. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but it is handy and comfortable to shoulder in this configuration. But even with the scope this high I still added a hammer extender to make it more comfortable to operate hammer.

Hi,
A friend of mine just bought one in 308, mounted a Redfield 3-9x40.
He tried 3 different ammo:
Hornady 150gr & 180gr and Winchester 180gr.
Best accuracy was 3moa, pretty disapointing.
How did yours do accuracy-wise?

I saw these and wondered why they aren't made in more metric and rimmed chamberings:

7.62x54r
.303 Brit

7x57r
8x57r
7x65r
9.3x74r

to name a few...
