The Golden Boy has the exact same action as the other Henrys, and yes it is soooooooooo smooth.This is due, in part, to the nylon components in the action. These guns are very inexpensive compared to the other lever action .22's on the market and you really do get way more gun than you pay for, IMHO. It's not really fair to try and hold a $270 gun to the same standard as a $700 gun.
I like the way the guy at Russell's put it when I bought mine: "This may not be the gun that you can hand down to your grandchildren and your grandchildren's grandchildren, but it will certainly last your lifetime and then a bit."
sorry pal. I call bull sh*t on the nylon, some of the earlier ones had them many years ago, the last two i had are all metal inside, check them out on the henry forum, they are exceptional guns for the money, problem is most salespeople dont know Jack !!!!!!!!!!!!!
