Henry Rifle Problem

The other day I took a friends Centennial Edition Henry Rifle in a 17 HMR out to site it in for him. Upon loading it, when I worked the lever to load it I had to work the lever 2 or 3 times to get a shell up pop into place when ever I loaded the tube mag..It would fire and eject the spent shell but I would have to work the lever 2 times ,every time to get a shell come up . What could be the problem with this gun.?? It is a brand new firearm !!!!

Try running some patches down the mag tube, till they come out clean. I had a browning lever that would occaisonally do this. Dirty mag tube was the cause.

Clean the innards too. Something is preventing the cartridge lift to stick.
You can't sight in for somebody else. Everything from your eye sight to the length of your arms is different from your buddy. You can get it close, but he'll have to sight in for himself.
