Henry Rifles now with side-loading gate

I read that it will come with a large loop lever, I like the tube loading but to have both would be handy, I know from discussions on this site many people wouldn't buy a Henry because of the loading tube, if they built this right they could convince some Marlin fans to give them a try.

Too late. I'm happy enough with my Marlin 1894, but yes, if Henry's rifles had that when I decided I wanted a lever action I probably would have preferred a Henry.

About time, Henry's are nice but I never considered them because I foresaw myself feeling that the front load was a Pita. Having both options finally is a great and will boost sales i'm sure. Were in the market for a new 30/30 i'd buy one of these over a Winchester for sure.

Definitely nice! However, I like them without the gate (there had to be at least one guy right). I have had issues with pine needles and snow getting in the side gate on winchesters and marlins while hunting (not enough to cause issues - just enough to be annoying). I think that more options is always great - Henry makes a lot of different models but I just hope quality doesn't slip because of the number of different guns they manufacture.

I just bought a Case Hardened 3030, octogon barrel for my Son. Now i want one of these for myself! Guess i need to get a larger vault!

The lack of a side loading gate kept me from buying a Henry for years. Then, after reading hoyt and several other CGN members stating that tube-loading with big fat .44 or .45-70 cartridges was much easier than dinky little .22's, I bit the bullet and got myself a Mare's Leg in .44Mag, along with a full-length buttstock. Should have done it long ago; I'm coming to really enjoy the tube load, so much so that if I were buying today I'd probably not bother getting the side-gate even if it were available.

Don't need no stinkin' extra holes in my shiny brass receiver...:)

The only time I use the unloading tube on my rossi 454 is unloading it after hunting or fishing at the truck. I use the side gate to load it at the range and in the field but more out of habit than anything.
