Henry rifles, those have to be the best kept secret....

Nice video. Never shot a 44mag myself. Looks as if it kicks as much as a 30-30! Lol!

Never shot a 30/30 so I can't say. It's definitely a comfortable recoil, not that bad at all. More recoil than the VZ58 we shot that day and less than the 12 gauge with #4 field loads.

Mine is a 44Mag/44Special... what are the advantages of shooting 44 Special?

Lower recoil, $$$ savings, more accurate?

Anyone see some good deals on 44MAG or SP?

I have looked at them, they sure are nice. I would like one, but I just don't know what to get it in. I was sort of thinking 45 Long Colt, but now that I know they come in 30-30, I dunno. Just how much recoil is there? I'm not a huge fan of the stuff! Maybe I'd be better off to go 357 mag. I have a six shooter in 357. But then again, what would I do with it! I just can't make up my mind! It would be mainly for forest trail carry when I'm out with my dogs in the Sidekick. Defence against bear, 4 legged cougar, wolf etc. Hopefully someone can make up my mind for me!

Gone is the solid brass receiver, in favor of brass-alloy components. The result is stunning. You are way better off for it. The brass alloy employed on Henry rifles is gorgeous and significantly lighter than true brass, with increased pressure resistance and durability. Although this new iteration of the Henry seems to dispatch many of the old-world aspects of the original, it retains enough to elicit nostalgia from old Western fans while providing quality to back it up.

The Henry's look great, as a plinking or hunting gun I'm sure they fit the bill excellently. However having seen them shot in cowboy action, there seems to be a tendency towards jams, and usually they simply are a slower gun. Again, for most applications I'm sure they are perfectly suited, and no one can argue they aren't pretty!

Looks like a really nice rifle but for me too heavy...My best option is a Ruger 77/357....Marlins are just too hard to find and really overpriced...Oh yeah so is the Ruger...however I like the idea of a rotary mag 5 round .357...plus you get the rings and base...From what I've heard it is a really nice bush rifle.
