Anyone heard of these scopes before? I was given one by some old timer once but never came across that brand again. Any info would be great.
Thanks

I have a 6x30 set that is wartime German issue, quite collectable...not sure if they were produced postwar as well. Are they marked "Dienstglas"?

I have a pair of their binoculars don't know how old they are. Big and heavy but crystal clear and very bright.

"HENSOLDT" in Wetzlar is a Zeiss firm. On the other hand "Hentzoldt" mit the "Z" is probably a cheap Japanese knock-off from the 50's or 60's... you sure you got the spelling correct?

They are claw mounts, fairly common in Europe. Not a lot of makers on this side of the pond though. Check with Martini and Hagn in BC, they might have some. - dan

Yes, I was referred to M&H as well. They are high end and were kind enough to get back to me with a quote of about $1,000 to modify my rifle with a new mount to accept modern glass. The usual job from scratch (new claw mounts on receiver) is about $1,400 apparently.

This was too rich for my blood for a 60 year old rifle, as sentimental as it is. I was lucky enough to find a local gunsmith (Nigel at Al Hobbs in Richmond Hill) who did the job of machining a custom rail for the top of my claw mounts (so the claw mounts are still usuable by unscrewing the new rail). I put a new Bushnell 3200 on top and voila, a refurbished rifle with another 60 years ahead of it.

He also tuned it up for me with a Timney trigger, barrel floated, etc.

I'll put a pic of it up eventually.
