Here is good load for 308win doesn't get much better

Do you have the velocity?

I'm not surprised you like this load.... 4895 is an old school classic for 308

I've always felt that when trying to decide between two powders that deliver similar results... pick the one with the faster burn rate, because it will burn cleaner and provide better accuracy over many rounds. To that point... 4985 is on the quick side for 308 with 168s

A tell tale sign that your powder burn rate is too slow is that it will shoot a good 3 or 5 round group, but then accuracy degrades as you shoot more rounds.

It's all a matter of degree.

On page 120 of Glenn Newick's book The Ultimate In Rifle Accuracy, basically the same load is described for Hunter Bench Rest competition except using H4895.

Your load is 2 grains below the IMR data starting load. Pressures are low enough that you should be able to neck size for quite a few firings.

Another old book I have is Handloaders Digest Bullet & Powder Update. An article written by C. E. Harris on page 25, your exact load is what the author uses to test a rifles potential.

Another 308 load that seems to work ... shot today @ 100M doing the tail end of load development. Group on right was only 4 shots, Center is 5 shots, left was the cold/clean...

42 grains of Varget with both the 168 and 175 Sierra match King work great in mine. I have a very good load with H4895 and the 168 SMK but don't remember what it is at the moment.

With the IVI brass he's using, it's probably pretty close to starting load pressures and velocity.

Just a heads=up on load of 39gr & 168, I loaded same load with Palma Lapua brass and the small rifle primers are not enough spark for this load got hangfires

Manitou210 that is very impressive! I will make a note in my reloading book to experiment with this combination in my Savage Model 12 LRP. Maybe it will work for me too.
