Showed up with my ammo and guns...and holster and belt with mag pouches.
You can't use a holster (only the god like workers there can carry a holster....because they have a CCW).
You can not use Commercially reloaded ammunition. (I brought Canadian BDX loaded ammunition).....BUT you can use your own reloads.
REASON I was given (and they mentioned Altanta Arms ammo as well)..."They don't have the insurance backing like big companies..like Winchester..etc" :jerkit:
BUT..they had 9mm 115gr AE for $21.99 a box of 50rds. :eek:YEAH FOR ME!! f**k me right in the face!!:adult:
I almost could not stomach it...but I shot 2 boxes. I left there after about 15 minutes....I then headed to Walmart which was 10miles away. Federal 115gr ammo was $22. for 100rds.
I understand indoor ranges have to make money...but I did pay my drop inrange fee..etc. I made use of one of the two pistol bays. (when say 2,..I mean 2)...if I flexed my huge arms I was touching the cement wall and partition. YOu could not do a mag change with out banging your elbow off the wall. So dissapointed. Last time I was there..they had so much room, and allowed my holster use, and allowed me to use my commercially reloaded ammo.

Oh well...can't win em all.:runaway:

Was this the place at Murrel's Inlet? I was thinking of going there to shoot but maybe I'll take a pass.
Too bad you couldn't be down there at the end of March Mo. SC State championship in Columbia. Great match!

Well. U could bring your own reloaded ammo.....thedown side to that is if your brass falls ahead of the shooting line...u can not retrieve it. (.38 super comp brass, that could get expensive!)

we are seriously considering renting our own condo for a month next year..February or march..or Feb into march. 900-1000 for a month is super cheap IMHO.
there is another range petitioning for indoor range approval...so hopefully that will be open soon. I will be bringing lots of "handloads" with me...or ordering AAA.

yeah...I was gonna take the ammo out of the bags and just have it loose inmy brass bag and say it was my reloads. I will know better next time. Doesn't pay to be honest in this case.

Walmart still has the cheapest ammo. I was at BassPro...really nice store. Ammo was almost as cheap as walmart for 9mm,..but .40 was almost absurd...although picked up some Win180gr personal defense for $25.
FYI.
One gun store I wanted to check out is the 707 gun shop? supposedly decent stuff...but does not have a range yet.

just an update. Coastal Sports range is no better..actually very nice folks to talk to..and actually bought a holster and batteries. BUT,..no go for handloads or remanufactured ammo. There is a new store called the 707 gun shop. I was in there today, and they are in the process of getting their range approved or getting it completed..etc. I asked what ammo would be allowed. They said anything you bring in...!?! I am not to sure about that...but who am I to argue. THat may change...but I can only hope it does not.
