After almost 6 months to the day, I finally have my stock. This is also the first time my Lilja barrel has been mounted since receiving it in October.

Here are a bunch of pic's. Hope you like them.

That is a beautiful pice of wood! Excellent shape, seamless transition to the ebony, even the checkering is not bad......But the finish sucks. Sorry man, but I just had to say it ....it sucks. If you like shiny, for the $$ he is charging he should be having a pro lay on nitrocellulose laquer with HVLP instead of building poly to get the gloss....way too many blemishes/scratches because of how he did it. Just takes away from an otherwise near perfect stock IMO.

OK, rant-off. :D

Enjoy the rifle..Range report to follow?

Range report to follow. I appreciate the input and I think I will have him build another one for me in the future. If that happens I will get it unfinished and send it to you Wrong Way. Deal? :D

Dont get me wrong...what I said has nothing to do with me finishing or not finishing your stock (although I'd be happy to do it)
Just a pet peeve of mine when I see premium wood, sold at premium prices, with mediocre (or worse) finishing. I see it all the time.....otherwise talented woodworkers not taki9ng the time to learn how to finish properly and/or doing a half-assed job and getting away with it.

It's kinda like putting moto-master tires on a Benz...they'll work, but.....

In the case of that stock, it could (should) be a work of art. (But then again, then you'd probably be afraid to shoot it :D)

You've got a beautiful rifle there Bull's-eye. Were going to have to try and squeeze in a shoot one of thesedays, if the snow ever stops. And providing your not going to be too scared to take that one out of the closet! :runaway: That is easily the nicest 10/22 I have ever seen. I'll even go so far as to say that's the nicest autoloader I've ever seen as well.

Wow, that is some high praise. I would love to get together and go shooting and I think I will take it with me but I will have to wrap it in bubble wrap first :D :D .

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I will range test her tomorrow.
