Thanks. Tin not matched to scope :(. It is actually a brit one.

I do have a 71L and a 74L with a matching tin :)

Rather unusual to find a sniper observers scope with the number of the rifle/scope though

That is amazing....I wonder, was that ever done when the rifles were issued? Or is that just an incredible coincidence?
 
I suspect a coincidence as I have never heard of any other matching rifles/scopes with the observer telescope. When 314-c came up on ebay, made sure I got it :)
