When taking apart your newly bought used 1911... make sure when going to remove the mainspring housing that the retaining pin is actually in there..

Luckily my dog was kind enough to block the flying housing with his head and wash the parts off in his water dish

I dont find them too difficult after switching out a few. Usually I flip it around and press it against a table. Housing on top pressing down on the punch pin against the table. Leaves the other hand free to put the stay pin back in...
