I realize that is true for a lot of people. But my situation is a bit different. I enjoy my job, and I have a certain amount of flexibility with the number of hours I work. If I work more, I get paid more.
From all accounts, reloading can be a fairly time-consuming hobby. If I start reloading, I'm pretty sure I'll be working less in order to find time for it. That's a real cost for me.
I've read tons of forum posts by reloaders. I almost never read about someone who does it purely to save money. Most people seem to want the extra accuracy or simply enjoy it.
I'll probably start reloading for one of those two reasons eventually, but I don't think I can yet. For now, I think I need to be able to convince myself on economics alone. Researching the costs of equipment and materials isn't too hard. But finding out how much time is involved is a lot harder.
That's why I asked.
