Hi
I’m thinking about buying one of the budget Heritage Rough Riders for sh*ts and giggles.
One of our sponsors iRunguns sells them for $127us. At under $200 Canadian I see no reason not to.
Any thoughts on these.
Have any of you bought one of these specific guns, RR22B4’s?

I’m just not interested in paying a lot for a single action .22. I’m sure my kids will like it more than me.
Thanks

Absolutely.
I've put a couple hundred rounds through mine and am thoroughly satisfied.
I like the antique primitive feel of the single action revolver,

Mine came to my door under $250 from IRG once they were already in Canada. I’m just waiting for them to show up on their .ca site again to buy another. What a nice pistol! They’re easy to do a trigger job on. (2.5lbs) Just bend the trigger return spring up a bit and it lightens the pull by quite a bit. I went a bit further and polished the sear and hammer so the actual pull is butter smooth. Even without the work it was a decent trigger at 4.5 lbs.

Not a bad revolver, for the price. But what's with a safety like that on a revolver?

Dry firing is not recommended.
So I'm thinking it's there to protect the firing pin in case of dry firing, or, one may need to release the hammer with the thumb.
In the latter case it would prevent a discharge if the hammer slipped out onto a live round.

I have had a hammer slip out from under my thumb on a loaded shotgun. Not fun.

Chiappa 1873 22 was offered by site sponsor Frontier Firearms for $199 not long ago... I got one, it works great, and no stupid out of place safety on it.

Being that they were $199 new, I'm sure that you can find one on EE for $275 by now lol

I bought the 6" from IRG last year & put a few dozen rounds through it. Accurate enough & reasonably fun to shoot. But, it was just too small for my big paws. Sold it to my buddy & its a perfect little handgun for his kids to shoot.

He had a screw come out & the ejector rod came apart on him. No parts were lost & he was up and running again in about 10 minutes.

Noticed a new bunch of inventory on iRunguns.ca this morning and pulled the trigged. Looking forward to trying it out. Think I might need a rig to go with it.

Frontier now sells them for just under $250.

I like the look of these pistols but not so much the safety added to the left side.
As well, the reviews seemed mixed - either really positive or very negative.
To anyone who has these pistols, how do you find these compare to say a Ruger single six convertable.
I realize the Ruger is 2-3 times the price of a Heritage Rough Rider and its an apples and oranges comparison

Even at $250...I'd rather get the Chiappa vs the Heritage just to avoid the funky safety knob........

If they have gone up from $199 to $250... they should be at least at $300 on EE by now then haha.

Mine has been shockingly good for a $200 handgun. It has never had one function issue ever and is deadly accurate. I've shot a buddies Ruger single 6 and could be more accurate at 15 yards with my gun that cost 1/4 of what his did.
My only comments that would be negative on the Chiappa are cosmetic. The barrel crown looks rough but it's still accurate and the finish is a paint on rather than bluing and the grips are plastic. I'd have liked a 2nd groove on the cylinder pin to slide it in a tad deeper and use it as a safety like I have on my proper 1873 SAA 45 colt, but that could get lathed in if I was real worried about it (and I'm not worried about adding a safety I never use)

compared to the Ruger they are garbage.
but for the price difference that is to be expected.
you dont notice the safety on them truth be told, if you dont use it then it dosnt get in the way.

but there is a distinct...... actually a MASSIVE difference in quality between these and the Rugers.
the Rugers are easily 3-4 times more in weight.
the Rugers are actually made of solid metal, the Heritage feel like some cheap pot metal.
the fit and finish on the Rugers are much better.

there just reallyis no comparison between them.

but, for the price......

i paid under $100 for mine from a co-worker and i dont know if he even ever shot it.
so for that price its a nice plinker.

here, maybe a pic can help better show ya
