Was in Cabelas/BassPro this morning looking for some of the Federal Champion they had on sale but they were sold out. I noticed they had bricks of Heaters Target. 22 for $30/brick. No limits so I grabbed a case. Wondering how it shoots? I'm assuming they are Winchester or Federal reboxed.

I bought several back in the Spring, they were only $24.99 then. I've fired them in my Sav-64, Sav-B22 and Maliln-60 and as Okay says they're OK but nothin to write home about. I can get a 50yd 3/4" with a flier at 1.5, but nothin consistent. Even the B22 isn't very happy and it shoots 1/2" often with Fed-Champion or Gold Medal. Good for cans or bunnies but the squirrels love it ;-)

If you're feeding a low end 10/22 or something similar and you aren't expecting stellar accuracy, they're fine, especially if you're just plinking at random targets.

If you shoot them out of a rifle that's purpose built for accuracy, whether from the factory or by a smith or at home, you will find that there are a lot of unexplained fliers out of your groups.

I shot off 4 boxes of it and gave the rest to my grandson, who get bored to death with bench rest type shooting. They're fine for fun shooting swinging tree style targets at 15-20 yards

In today's market, if you can find an entire case of .22 ammo and afford what they are asking for it, then it is good ammo. Quantity has a quality all of its own.

I had the last four boxes of it in my cart at Regina Cabela’s this afternoon. One of the “outfitters” asked me if there was anything I was looking for. I said more of the Herter’s .22. He said no more, whatever was on the shelf. He said it was Federal?? I don’t really care what it is, as long as it goes bang. I shoot gophers with .22 hollow points, and I don’t need .0005” at 100 yd accuracy. I’ll be likely set for a long time with what I’ve got at home. Will buy more at that price though, for sure.

Seeing the packaging might help.
The Hornady Target appears to have a number of similarities to CCI SV in the paper boxes and accuracy was similar.
Doubtful if Herter's has a manufacturing site and this may be another of the contract variety made by Federal.
The Hornady at $70 for a brick did not live up to "Target" designation vs. CCI SV at $50 per brick and sometimes even cheaper.

Some accuracy tests at 25, 50 and 100 might suggest a value. Reliability is SemiAuto might also serve as a criteria.
