Any idea who makes this brass?

Herters Cabela's. $20.99 a box

Old Herters brass was made in Sweden by Metallverken which was eventually bought out by Norma. It's pretty good brass if you can find it.
I never had much luck S&B brass, wears out quickly.

If this new herters stuff really is S&B then the .303 will probably be as bad for rimjam as the house branded stuff. For some reason they don't bevel the rim like milspec cases and other modern makers like PPU.

This brass sure smells and talks like Winchester. I weighed a bunch tonight. All sized and trimmed. 157grs. Falls into the same range as my Winchester brass. Looks the same internally. 308 Win head stamp looks identical to the Win also.
My Federal, Lapua, Rem, PPU and S&B all land around 174. The box says made in USA. I don't think Cabela's would push imported ammo and market it as made in USA. My money is on a Winchester product for brass.

I've been told by a Cabela's employee that herters is manufactured by Winchester. I haven't bothered to confirm. I can tell you that at least their 22lr is though as a friend did look through some of their 22lr and found a few winchester stamped cases.

Isn't that the same styrofoam Winchester uses?
I bought some 303 and 308.... Looks pretty bad. Scored cases, some bullets are canted and they're all seated at different spots on the cannelure.... Shot fine.
S&B use some pretty flat looking primers.

I’ve only ever reloaded S&B brass in 44 Mag and it seems to last forever. I have them mixed in with a bunch of different brands and can always tell when it’s a S&B on the sizing die since it takes more effort than all the other brands.
