Hey guys, any idea why "Enfield" is stamped upside down on this Martini?

I was just wondering that, Kyber pass is the only reason I can think of. Although over all from the outside it looks like a really good copy.

Another good indication its a Khyber Pass gun is the Victoria Regina crest on a gun dated 20 years before her reign.

Martini markings

The Afghanis have of late, been adding spurious British markings to civilian & private purchase unmarked genuine Martini's. British military marked stuff sells better to the troops out there.

Cannot tell if the MH is good or not but the markings are not correct. Have to have a better look inside to see about the rifle itself. Those markings sure are bad though.

Someone in the armory with a sense of humor????

Any Khyber Pass stuff I've seen, has all been hand stamped.

That looks to be roll stamped.

Nice rifle though. If it were mine, I would keep it as an oddity and conversation piece.

It's a tough one, isn't it?

Sure does look nice.

But, I really can't believe Enfield made a mistake like that and it was never seen by anyone in the whole rifle's supposed service history?

The Brits made things to a pattern, and they had to conform.
