Say the big bang hits and your grabbing a couple of .22's

Q is if your going to take a .22 pistol and a .22 rifle what would you take??

My idea would be a Browning buckmark pistol and the Buckmark rifle that way you would be able to have mags that work in both weapons What do you all thinK?? only draw back is your limited to 10 rd mags

My other option would be to take either a browning international or a ruger mk11 both very accurate pistols and a tube fed marlin with a EZ loader ( 6 tubes holding 15 rds each so just pour and your loaded) no mags to loose.

Interested to see what you all think:D

Well, if i slept in when the zombies came and when I got to the store all that was left was 22... I would take my remington 597, and ruger mkIII target. Not because they are my favorite, just because they are my only 22's that fit the bill.

Ruger mkIII 22/45 target for pistol. Rifle would be hard. If i wanted to use it for some kind of small game hunting, i would probably take the remington model 12 pump. This thing shoots golf balls and pop can bottoms at 100 yards. At least, it did when i was putting a brick or two of practice in every week at the hunt camp/private 100 yd range. In a defense scenario, i'd probably want the nylon 66. Unfortunately, i do not own a .22 rifle with a detatchable magazine (and multiple magazines). If i had to pick what i think would be a good .22 rifle, i would probably take an older 10/22, back when they were made out of steel, and a dozen or so 30 round mags.

Lol....:D...I love this thread already !

Definitely would take a scoped 10/22 and all the hi-cap mags I can muster (I think about 8 or 9 at present :) ) , and then the 22/45 with 4 mags and the single-action "buntline" .22LR revolver....;)

Very easy to wear the 2 handguns in holsters around the waist, and all the 10/22 mags and bricks of .22LR can be worn on a chest rig (thanks to P12's genius)...

Without a doubt the greatest 22 handgun ever made is the Freedom arms. Eye socket accuracy to 100 and the same incredible quality as their 454's. Makes a decent club if you cant' speed reload. Second place to the Ruger Mk 1,2, and 3, or most any of the original High Standards.
Along the same lines I'd say it's hard to impossible to beat a Thompson Contender single shot rifle in 22. Not alot of moving parts, built to handle much bigger calibers so it'll last long after you're gone. Just wont win you any high volume gun fights. American 180 with that ?? 1000 round mag might be handier in that circumstance :ar15:. 10/22 is hard to argue against, it's almost the AK47 of North America so you'll never be short of spares. For sheer cool I'd probably go with one of the tricked our M4/AR's converted to belt feed. Swathed in bandoleers with your 5 colored laser designators flashing in the night you're sure to have a huge CDI factor in your favor and the zombies will respect you.

1st all semi choice-Ruger deluxe 10/22 and my Colt Woodsman 2nd model 4-1/2" barrelled semi pistol.

2nd non semi-auto selection- Winchester sporter model 52 and S&W pre model 17 !
cheers Dale Z!

which to take

on your pistol fixed sight or adjustable?

How about the GSG 1911 or any of the converson kits on a 45 base or cz 75 frame?

I still like the tube fed 22s as they are very reliable and can use any 22 amo you can find in a pinch.

I do like the idea of a good revolver Ruger single six or Smith model 17 or any of the camp .22 and hey Taurus puts out a good revolver 9 shot.

Pistol - Ruger 22/45, because it's the only rimfire pistol I own and works fantastically well.

Rifle - The short barrel Savage Mk.II custom I am working on, it should be super accurate and easy to carry. If the apocolypse happens before this one is done, I would take my CIL/Anschutz 310.

Damn, that would be tons of fun on a budget.

Well, I would open up the safe and grab my CZ 75B and install the Kadet kit (not quite sure why I would replace the 9mm, but I"m gonna play along), and grab my Savage Mark II Bolt Action because they are the only .22LR guns I've got.

The Bolt is not as speedy as the 10/22 or other Auto Loaders, but it's gonna go BANG every time no questions asked. The CZ is DA/SA so even if something goes wrong the first time (which has happened form time to time) the DA will dispatch that round.
