Sry for my English. Iwill try my best
I just got a Mosin Nagant Pu Sniper rifle. It is a good shooter but I found the eye reflief is too short in standing postion. It feels like I have to put my head forward as far as I can, so that i could obtain a perfect image without any shadow through the scope.(looks like a chicken =.=)
I am shooting 100 yard or longer distance.
I got 2 question:
What if i dont care the eye relief. I just try my best to put reticle in the center of black shadow. Is it still pointing truly?
Second question: What if I failed to put the reticle on the center of black shadow? Is it still pointing truly? I attached a image for this.

I tried the thing related to the first question. The result was ok(I remember the group was about 2-4 inches with surplus ammo)
I did not have chance to prove second question so I wish if any scope expert are able to explain it to me.

That's the funny part of the PU scope. The crosshair assembly moves as a complete unit within the scope & if the mount is not precisely mounted over the bore,(Which a lot of them ain't.) you will end up with a sight picture like yours. Just gotta adjust to the system is all.

NONONO, I think you misunderstand me. My scope and mount is perfectly fine. What I was trying to say is : Instead of putting my head close enough to clearly see through scope. My head stay where I feel comfortable which led to black shadow around the reticle, then move my head around to make reticle on the center of black shadow. My question is what if I failed to make reticle to center of shadow(that would looks like picture I draw). Will bullet still impact where reticle aims?

If you are 100% consistent, the mean center of impact will be consistent. Do whatever you can repeat exactly.
